The streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh, transformed into open-air classrooms for street children with the help of the Commitment Award and student Marufa Akter.

Together with the Ekmattra society, various text books, work books, posters, pencils and pens, chalk and chalkboards, and games were bought. Add these materials with portable curtains and a floor-mat, and underprivileged kids of Dhaka can now experience a real open-air classroom. Project managers are currently still running this pre-school and while continuing to look for other sources of funding to expand. Please visit: http://www.ekmattra.org/open-sky-school.html for more information about the project and find out how you can support their vision of providing the children of Dhaka with an education!
